Jacob
K. Colclough, Libby Montana
 Jacob K. Colclough, 17, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, from
injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident while
returning from National Guard duty. He was born April 27,
1992 in Libby to Alan and Karla (McCabe) Colclough. He grew
up in Libby and attended the Libby Public Schools. He was a
member of the Libby High School Class of 2010. Jacob enjoyed
mixed martial arts, boxing, hunting, snowmobiling and boffer
fighting. He also enjoyed movie night at the home of his
best friend, Jake Waynick, who describes Jacob as a friend
who “always had your back.” He worked at McDonald’s for
nearly three years. Jacob joined the Army National Guard on
April 24, 2009. He completed basic training on Aug. 21,
2009. His goal was to make a career of the Army National
Guard. Survivors include his parents, Alan and Karla
(McCabe) Colclough of Libby; a brother, Jason Colclough of
Libby; grandparents, Gary McCabe of Walla Walla, Wash.; Kay
and Michael Funk of Libby; Dave Colclough of Troy; and Joyce
Colclough of Spokane, Wash.; great-grandmother, Grace McCabe
of Walla Walla, Wash.; and numerous aunts, uncles and
cousins. Many friends also mourn his passing. Services will
be Friday, March 12 at 10 a.m., at Libby High School in
Ralph Tate Gymnasium (150 Education Way). Visitation will be
from 1-8 p.m., on Thursday at the Schnackenberg & Nelson
Funeral Home, 422 W. Second St., Libby

1PM to 4PM in Dillon
A memorial gathering will be held for Butch Ballard on June 28, 2009 in Dillon Montana. This
will be at the fairgrounds in the 4H building from 1PM to 4PM. Sandwiches and drinks will be
supplied.

Forrest S. “Butch” Ballard was born April
21, 1946, and raised in Dillon where he grew up as a ranch hand working with horses. He later moved
to Deer Lodge and worked in Butte as a cabinetmaker. He moved to Philipsburg in 1997 and worked in
Deer Lodge at Sun Mountain Lumber Co. Butch died peacefully Saturday, May 9, 2009, at St. Patrick’s
Hospital in Missoula. He is survived by long-time companion and love of his life, Linda McQuiston;
brother, Sam (Gina) Ballard of Las Vegas; sister, Marlene (Larry) Fischer of Enumclaw, Wash.;
brother, David Fischer of Las Vegas; daughter, Barbra (Jay) Funk of Littleton, Colo.; two
grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many friends. Butch
was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Ballard; mother, Angie Fischer; stepfather, Butch
Fischer; and sister, Darling Belle Healy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be
held at a later date.

JERRY BURGSTROM, 85, died Saturday May
9, 2009 at Veterans Hospital in Louisville. He was born April 13, 1924 to Carl M. and Annie May
Harriman Burgstrom in Butte, MT. Jerry was a carpenter contractor and owner of Shamrock Builders and
a army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, the former Willodean "Dean" Jenkins;
son, John Carl Burgstrom (Bess), of Marysville, IN; daughters, Peggy Ann Frakes (Robert), of
Henryville, IN and Joyce Rock (Ronnie), of New Albany, IN six grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grayson Funeral Home with
burial in Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy to Hosparus of Southern Indiana and the American Cancer Society.
