From: Patrick Turbin Hi I just found your site on the web. My name is Patrick Turbin and my mothers maiden name was Mary Ballard. William of Andover is my 9th Great Grandfather. His son John 8th, He has connections with the Salem witch trials. Sherebiah 7th, Sherebiah 6th, Luke 5th, Norman 4th, Luke 3rd, James Norman 2nd, and Frank Lee Ballard my Grandfather. I have Lukes family Bible with some info in it about some of the relatives marriage dates and death dates and where they are buried. I believe starting with Norman the family moved to Dundas Ontario Canada. My Great Grandfather James Norman moved back to the States around 1900 to Kansas City where he was a Pattern Maker for the Railroad Shops. When my Grandpa was about 9 they moved to Stevens Point Wisconsin to work in the Railroad shop there. I live in Wis. Rapids about 20 miles from there.

I recently attended the Yates Family Reunion North of Bozeman. A woman named Shirley Sedivy compiled an extensive geneology of Granny Yates. She has it that Forrest worked at the Lewis & Clark Caverns as a seasonal employee. Do you know any thing more along those lines? While I was in Montana I visited the caverns and was really impressed with the development. In the days Forrest might have worked there, in summers during high school or after he graduated, it had to be a very primitive site, much the same as it always had been. But the CCC developed the cave interior with steps and lighting. There are photos at the visitor center of a young work force. I wondered if he might actually be in one of those photos. I do enjoy that part of the US. My mother was raised on a ranch at Gallatin Gateway, East of town on what is now Yonder Rd, about a mile off Cottonwood. I had not been to MT in 45 years and had never seen the ranch. It was a very rewarding trip. I want it to be an annual excursion. We'll see. Thanks. |

From: Debbie Lund Sent: Saturday, February 8, 2014 8:41 PM Subject: Family Website Hi,
I was on the Ballard Family Tree website and I am Gussie Ballard Smith oldest grandchild, Debbie OHern Lund. My mother is Gussie & Bud Smith oldest daughter, Penny Blanche. My mom is really into the family history and would have more information on the children of George & Lillie Ballards and their families. My grandmother, Gussie, is 88 and will be 89 this year and still going strong. Her brother, Tom, is the only other sibling that is still alive. I believe that you are a granddaughter to my great uncle Forest if I followed everything correctly. My grandma has talked of him often and she also has the photo of him on his horse, Eagle. Anyhow, my mom's email is, I will also let her know the name of the website so she can look. It is very interesting to read all of the family history!!!

Hello Jay,
Thank you for creating this website. I found some information on my grandmother, Jane Adele Ballard (married name Judd) who was the 11th child of Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ballard. She died this year in her home in Arkansas City, KS surrounded by family of four sons and a dozen or more grandchildren.
"Elizabeth W. "Lizzie" BALLARD
We were inspired by my grandmother's passing to create our own family tree. So far there are 50 people added. The hard work will be tracing back through time. I'm sure you know all about that!
Thanks again,

Hello. I am researching my family - likewise to give to my adult children as a gift. I am finding Rebecca Ballard married to Dr. John Henry Woodcock married 1818 in Huntsville, Alabama and then living in Mobile, Alabama 1840 - 1865). Rebecca Ballard( my gg grandmother) is the daughter of Rebecca Taylor and Walter Ballard, Walter being the son of Elizabeth Clopton and William Ballard. These families seem to be from North Carolina and Virginia. John Henry Woodcock (my gg grandfather) (born 1798) seems to be from Pennsylvania. Does this fit into the research that you are completing? Thanking you. Gloria (retired Kindergarten teacher!)
P.S. I did find a picture of a young man around 1934 named "Cousin Lou" on a vacation in Galveston Texas, if that is of any value. Just on the chance.

I am a
grandson of Elizabeth Ballard Cloninger. I have visited your website and
was so excited to find photos of Lizzie as a young girl and woman. I
have a photo of my mother, Jane Adele Cloninger as a toddler with her 10
siblings in front of the log cabin that shows Uncles Will and Fred etal
at Radersburg on your website. I would like to add a correction and an
addition. Lizzie actually died in Wichita, KS at Jane Cloninger Judd and
Kenneth Judd's house while visiting there. Additionally, Jane Adele
Cloninger Judd died October 15, 2011 at her home in Arkansas City, KS. I
have heard so many stories about the place/names in your site from the
time I can first remember, Radersburg, Three Forks, Gallatin Gateway,
Bozeman, .... Holler, etc. There is a story Jane told of a murder over
a fenceline by one of her uncles up in the Holler. At any rate I so
appreciate your effort. Jeff .... |

Mary K. Ballard (20 April 1808-30 March 1853)
For many years I have been trying to identify the above inscription which appears in the Fossett Bible which belonged to my GG grandparents, John Fossett and Susan McIntyre. The Fossetts and McIntyres livee in Bristol, Lincoln, Maine. I am quite sure Mary K. Ballard was Susan's sister. Susan and Mary would be children of Robert McIntyre, born 27 June 1779, and Nancy Russell. Alvin F. Gamage, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
